Meet Our Team

* Jim Bridges

President & CEO

Jim Bridges is the president and CEO of SuccessEd.  He is responsible for overseeing SuccessEd’s overall strategic direction, planning and execution.  Jim is passionate about building companies that serve their customers with fierce commitment and where remarkable employees are constantly challenged, encouraged, and rewarded.

Jim has been in the software business for more than twenty-five years. He has held virtually every position in the industry, having worked as a developer, implementer, sales consultant, vice president of sales, and CEO at some of the industry’s top tech companies.

Jim’s introduction to the software business was as a developer at Brown & Root and Knowledge Systems.  He then spent five years in the consulting practice of Coopers & Lybrand focused primarily on software selection and custom software implementation projects.  At Oracle, Jim worked in a variety of sales leadership roles.  From there he moved to IONA Technologies, where he served as a vice president of sales, spending most of his time in Ireland managing the European and Asia-Pacific sales teams.  Upon returning to the states, Jim served as President and CEO of Corprasoft – a privately-held, market-leading provider of software solutions for corporate legal departments.  In addition to the successful day-to-day operations of the company, Jim was also instrumental in the strategic sale of Corprasoft.

Jim summarized his thoughts on leading SuccessEd by saying, “I am honored to be a part of a remarkable and dedicated team that works hand-in-hand with our customers to deliver the mission critical software that enables them to be more efficient and effective. As we look to the future, I’m committed to building upon the success of the past while continuously improving our product that supports those who change the lives of students and their families.”

Jim received his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.  He serves on a number of corporate and non-profit boards and is particularly proud of his role as President of the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees.

* John Schrampfer

Vice President – IT

John Schrampfer is responsible for creating and managing the entire line of SuccessEd products. He brings 17 years of software development experience to the job.  From launching startups to connecting Fortune 500 companies, he has a keen ability to find efficient and effective solutions for customers that enable them to be successful.

John began his career in software development working on projects ranging from control systems for the plastics industry to an e-commerce solution that connected some of the world’s largest technology companies. Over the last ten years, John has invested his time working for companies that provide tools and services for people in need. He developed a software solution that assists those seeking low income housing, and then developed an application designed to assist those wrestling with mounting consumer debt. He’s passionate about his work, especially when he knows it’s helping those who need it most. John received his BS in Computer Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University.

* Rolando Ocanas

Vice President - Sales

Rolando is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, but now calls San Antonio home. With an undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of Dallas and a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, Rolando worked as an LSSP in several districts before serving as Director of Special Programs for a district in San Antonio. He currently serves as Vice President of Sales at SuccessEd where he enjoys still having a hand in the education world by helping districts to match districts' needs with SuccessEd's solutions.

* Shannon Naber

Vice President – Product

Shannon Naber is the Vice President of Product for SuccessEd. As a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology with an additional master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Shannon brings a very unique skill set and rare perspective to SuccessEd. Since 2007 when she joined SuccessEd, Shannon has helped develop the special education product, maintained third party data connections, and has been our key collaborator with Dave Richards and Jose Martín. Shannon takes the state’s compliance requirements and district enhancement requests and translates them into product specific action items for the SuccessEd Development Team. She also oversees the responsibilities of the Relationship Management Team and Support Specialists.  Shannon is based in Leander, TX.

Jennie Nelson

Controller

Jennie is responsible for overseeing SuccessEd’s financial reporting, accounting and HR functions.  Jennie received her BBA in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M University and her MBA from University of Alaska. She began her career in the oil & gas industry with ARCO working in Texas, Alaska and Asia.  After management positions in two other companies in accounting and then financial reporting, she joined the SuccessEd team in 2016.  She is excited to be helping improve the back-office functions in the dynamic environment that currently exists at SuccessEd.

Vice President – Product

Shannon Naber is the Vice President of Product for SuccessEd. * Stacie Whitaker

Director of Relationship Management

Stacie Whitaker has served students and educational staff in the public-school system for over 35 years. A passion discovered at an early age babysitting, working at a daycare and then substitute teaching while earning a college degree resulted in various instructional positions over the course of 30 years in some of the best school districts in Texas. Advocating for those that work with students with special needs and finding the best ways to educate those same students has been Stacie’s focus for most of her educational career. Stacie feels that her position at SuccessEd allows her to be able to continue much of this same work. She more than enjoys helping to provide educators a tool that will lighten their load and when she says she wants to become a member of your team, she means it!

Damaris Moore

Technical Support Specialist

Damaris was born and raised in Lavaca County, TX.  She attended Victoria College, taking computer and networking courses. She worked for Victoria ISD for 16 years before joining SuccessEd, as a Customer Service Representative.  She has been with us for 9 years and loves to troubleshoot the SE products for our clients.  She is known to us as "Birddog"! If you need support give her a call.

Dena Simonek

Technical Support Specialist

Dena was born and raised in Wills Point, Texas. She brings roughly 28 years of professional experience (20 in school districts) to her role as a Customer Support Representative for SuccessEd. This is the second time Dena has been with our company; the first time around she was with SuccessEd for about 4.5 years and has been back on board for a little over 3 years now. Dena has been nicknamed "Sunshine" by co-workers because she is always trying to look on the bright side of things. She loves what she does and is always ready to provide customer support for users via our help desk ticket system and by phone.

MacMichael Henson-Rogers

Product Manager

MacMichael was born in Oklahoma, and has spent most of his life moving around Southeast Texas.  He currently lives in Southwest Houston.  MacMichael received his BS in Psychology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake and his Masters in Education from the University of St. Thomas.  MacMichael served as a Special Education Teacher, Diagnostician, and Special Programs Administrator prior to joining the SuccessEd team in 2011.  He currently serves as a Product Manager, where he works with clients and colleagues to support student services through a user-friendly and efficient system.

Maria “Maggie” Acosta

Relationship Manager

Maria “Maggie” Acosta is one of our newest Relationship Managers for SuccessEd.  After working for 12 years as an inclusion strategist and inclusion teacher for Edinburg CISD and Mission CISD, it was her passion for helping educators that made her move to SuccessEd a logical next step.    After working with the program at the district level she knew she had an opportunity to help educators by being an advocate for SuccessEd.  Success Ed has been able to incorporate intelligent programming with expert knowledge into an experience that results in a premier time-saving data management tool.  Maria truly believes this program allows educators to track compliance and services provided to students in Special Education Section 504, Dyslexia, RtI, ELL and behavior programs in the most efficient way possible. 

Melissa Casey

Support Specialist

Melissa graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  She also attended The University of Texas at Tyler for her teaching certification courses.  Prior to joining the SuccessEd family in 2018, she had spent 17 years serving Harrison County Co-op as an Assistive Technology Manager and SuccessEd District Admin/User Support for the Co-op's 5 member districts.  Melissa enjoys supporting districts through new district implementations and providing ongoing support to districts and also her fellow Product Management Team members.

Shanda Kelso

Relationship Manager

Shanda dedicated 25 years of service in Texas public schools as a Teacher, Educational Diagnostician, Special Education Administrator, and Director of Special Services before joining the SuccessEd family in 2018. Shanda has always had a passion for serving students in special circumstances. She is thrilled to get to continue that service by supporting districts and special populations though our SuccessEd solutions.  Helping educators work smarter not harder utilizing our compliance tools is a true joy for her. Shanda has never met a stranger, so partnering with school personnel to assist them in meeting programming needs is a happy outcome for her. Building and maintaining strong and successful relationships is one of Shanda’s favorite things about her role in our company.

Stephanie Marullo

Relationship Manager

Stephanie was born and raised in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Houston – Clear Lake where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and her Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Instruction both with a focus on Special Education.  After working in Special Education for twelve years in Texas public schools, she found her home at SuccessEd.  She loves working with our clients through their implementation and training processes and having the opportunity to build new relationships.  One of her favorite aspects of her role is when she’s able to show clients what the SuccessEd application can do for them and being a part of those a-ha moments.

Wendy Stanley

Relationship Manager

Wendy was born and raised in Gladewater, Texas into an extended family of educators, with multiple family members serving roles in the local school district ranging from school bus driver to superintendent.   She received her degree in psychology from Baylor University before attending the University of South Carolina to obtain her Ph.D. in School Psychology.  As an LSSP, Wendy supported students in Cypress-Fairbanks, Grapevine-Colleyville, and Frisco school districts. She then began her career in special education leadership, serving as a Secondary Coordinator in Frisco ISD prior to becoming the Director of Special Education, Section 504, and Dyslexia Services in Anna ISD.  Serving as a Relationship Manager for SuccessEd allows Wendy the opportunity to draw upon the experiences and knowledge gained during her 20 year career in public education to collaboratively support teams in school districts across the state.

Abbey Thering

Account Representative

Abbey is a native to the rolling plains that surround the Dallas-Fort Worth region but is currently enjoying the hills to which central Texas offers. She is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) that has worked with a varying range of needs but has a particular passion for Executive Functioning and how disabilities influence development within this neurological domain. In addition to her contributions to the field of psychology she invests time volunteering with non-profits such as CASA and local memory care facilities. Abbey believes that nurturing kindness in all walks of life is pivotal for wellness at both an individual and systematic level.

Christy Clark

Account Executive

Christy has been supporting students with special needs since she was 16 years old. She has considered her years in public education as her mission. During her 31 year career she has held positions such as life skills teacher, diagnostician and Executive Director of Student Support Services. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to support students and district staff as the account executive with SuccessEd. Christy resides in Nacogdoches.

Frances Garcia

Account Executive

Frances brings 10 years of experience in education and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership she served as a Bilingual teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal and Bilingual/ESL Director. Frances joined the SuccessEd family in 2017 and brings her extensive background to assist in the development of our LPAC data management software. Frances serves as an Account Executive where she continues to work with directors to assist with matching their needs to various SuccessEd solutions.

Jasmine Hartman

Sales Operations Manager

Born in Arkansas and raised in the high rocky mountains of Colorado, Jasmine now calls Texas her forever home with her husband and three children.  With a bachelor’s degree in English and professional background in public administration, accounting, special education compliance, and Medicaid to Schools administration, she is happy to serve school districts as an account representative.  When she’s not helping districts find solutions to their documentation needs, Jasmine can be found gardening, poolside with the kiddos, or shopping for that perfect pair of shoes.

Judy Moon

Sales Ambassador

Judy holds a bachelors in Education from Texas A&M and graduate degrees in Special Education and Education Leadership from UNT and UTA.  Judy joined SE in September 2019, bringing 35+ years of experience in education to the SuccessEd team and districts across Texas.  She has served the students of Texas as a Special Education teacher, Behavior Specialist, Inclusion Facilitator, and Special Education Director.  After retirement, she transitioned to the private sector working with IEP software, serving districts all over Texas and working with thousands of special educators. Judy says, “I joined SuccessEd because I get to work with a team that understands and demonstrates what is most important. It’s all about service to the people.“

Kara Knicky

Lead Account Representative

Kara was born and raised in Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Special Education and English as a Second Language. Kara felt called to serve students with special needs. During her time in education she held positions such as Self-Contained teacher, Response to Intervention campus coordinator, and Intervention Services Trainer. Kara currently serves as an Account Representative at SuccessEd where she still pursues her passion by working alongside districts and their Special Populations.

Karen Hale

Account Representative

Karen is from Waxahachie, Texas, but now enjoys big city life in Plano.  She earned her Bachelors of Education at Baylor University and then taught Reading and English for 12 years.  Needing a change, and  being the mother of a special needs child, Karen decided to help school districts better serve their special needs students and parents, and joined SuccessEd as an Inside Sales Associate,  where she has enjoyed providing directors with solutions that allow them to give more time to the children.

Kim Williams

Account Representative

Kim grew up in Lubbock, Texas and spent about 10 years in College Station before moving to the San Antonio area in 2014. She earned her education degrees from Texas Tech University. She served more than 20 years in public schools as a teacher, Educational Diagnostician, Coordinator of Special Services and recently retired as a Director of Special Education. Kim is excited to build partnerships with districts across the state to share how SuccessEd’s compliance solutions save valuable time so educators can spend more time working with students.

Marty Chavez

Senior Account Executive

Marty likes to say that while he’s not originally from Texas, he got here as fast as he could. With an undergraduate degree in Business Management and graduate degree in Special Education, Marty joined SuccessEd in 2011 after using our software as a special education teacher. As the father of a son with autism, Marty brings a unique perspective and skill set to his role as Senior Account Executive. Fort Worth is home for Marty, his wife and two sons.

Sarah Perez

Account Executive

Raised in Edinburg, Texas, Sarah earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, and became an elementary and secondary education teacher.  Upon earning her graduate degree in School Psychology, she served as an LSSP, Special Education Coordinator, and Interim Director in Central Texas.  Sarah recently retired after 31 years in education.  She is honored to be an Account Executive with the SuccessEd Family, having the opportunity to build relationships with school districts, by making a fundamental impact in the lives of educators and the students whom they serve, through our SuccessEd customized solutions.

Taylor Hejl

Account Representative

Taylor is an Austin native who earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and graduate degree in School Psychology from Texas State University. In addition to working as an LSSP, Taylor collaborated with Section 504, MTSS, and served on the Texas Association of School Psychologists board. Her experience as an LSSP and being a mother of two young children affords her a “see the whole child” perspective which is key in her role as an Account Representative at SuccessEd.

Margaret Tolbert

Accounts Receivable

Margaret was born in Chicago and moved to Texas over 40 years ago as a military spouse. She has spent those 40-plus years as a Receivable Specialist for different companies and always aims to make her customers’ days happier and jobs easier. In her spare time, Margaret enjoys bowling, fishing, riding horses, and spending time with her family.

Qudsia Maqbool

Staff Accountant

Qudsia is the company’s Staff Accountant and assists in daily accounting functions.  She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with her Bachelors of Science in Accounting and is excited to bring her 15 years of accounting experience to SuccessEd. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as hunting for treasures in local antique shops.
