Anita Barsalou is responsible for the strategic direction of SuccessEd’s products. She leads a team that is dedicated to making sure that the needs of SuccessEd’s customers are captured, prioritized, and addressed.
A licensed specialist in school psychology, Anita worked for 13 years in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City and New Braunfels ISDs in Texas. She also served for two years as the Coordinator of Special Education where she was first introduced to SuccessEd. Her success in that role eventually led her to transition from a SuccessEd customer to an employee, and she joined the company in October 2005.
Anita and her team bring practical, real-world experience to their roles. She says, “At SuccessEd, we pride ourselves on the fact that our software is ‘built by educators for educators.’ To me, this means that we seek to continually evaluate new products and enhancements through the lens of an educator. Having walked in the shoes of our customers for many years, we realized that our focus must remain on building tools to make educators more successful in their daily interactions with children and their parents. I love the fact that, every single day, my job can positively impact that important and vital work.”
Anita earned a BA in psychology and a Master of Education from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. Her major field of study was school psychology with a minor in special education.
